Inability to Share
The main problem in home life is the inability to
share. Each is expecting to receive too much
attention from the other and feeling slighted when
failing to receive it. This may be due to ego or plain
selfishness plus the lack of giving. The desire to
receive favours or attention springs from self-prejudice,
with the misconception that only such treatment could
make you happy. In most cases it is lack of
analysis and self-discipline, a wrong concept of life,
lazy mindedness, lack of education, and lack of example
in early home life. It is true that everything in life is but
a mental phenomenon or concept. It depends upon
the motive for happiness or what constitutes
happiness.
The way to make a person happy is to remove the
drudgery of things. What kills partnerships is
monotony, monotony of each other's association
because after a certain period of time when the flush
of romance is worn off each partner quits helping the
other, quits serving the other.
Everything is a state of mind and it is natural that,
without knowledge, a person would rather receive
something than give to others; but through the law of
growth one's mind centres upon the growth that
repeatedly creates contentedness, or the mind focused
upon self. This causes self to be the number one
interest, what with its desire to understand what life
is all about and use of self as a focal standard of
measurement. It would naturally create a personal
standard of measurement and expectation of receiving
any and all favours. Boiling it all down, it is all a
matter of perspective. You can be just as happy, even
happier, giving as receiving. It is all a matter of what you
desire and what you are used to. It is actually a
misconception of the true values of life.
Everything is mind, everything. One person loves a
certain thing; another despises it. You can love a
thing one day and despise it later. It is all a state of
mind, in any case. The point is, what made that state
of mind? If you find happiness in a partnership, it is
only a matter of doing certain things to create your
happiness, that is all--the proper attentions to the one
you care for. If people only showed the natural respect
that they show strangers, partnerships would be a success;
but many times, partners do not even show the respect
for each other that they show to strangers: their
attention, respect to the other person's thoughts and
actions, listening attentively to what the other person
says, and endeavouring to make the other person
happy. That is only for strangers. If we would only do
that in our home life we would at least be happy.

George
The name George creates a rather complex although
a rather delightful nature, particularly when George is in
an expressive and expansive mood. George is a
combination of two apparently opposing forces and can
appear to be two entirely different people, depending
upon the environment in which you meet him.
If you meet George for the first time among a large
group of people who are strangers to him, you are
impressed with George's reflectiveness and his
inability to (or lack of desire) to express himself, or to be
drawn into the conversation; or perhaps George happens
to be in one of his depressed moods which he can
develop so easily through some imagined slight or the
desire for self-pity.
On the other hand, you may meet George later among
a select group of people who are old friends of his, and
you will be amazed at his versatility and his ability at
conversation and to be the life of the party. This is
George in his lighter and expressive mood. When he is
like this he is sympathy, generosity, and attentiveness
personified; everyone thinks him charming. This is the
mood that earns him foriveness for days of depression
and self-pity.
George loves music, art, and drama. He is sensitive
and refined in his nature, and he desires a successful
and refined environment in which to live.
3) Birthpaths (continued)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To calculate your birthpath, add the month, the day,
and year and reduce the number to a single digit between
one and nine.
December 12, 1975
12 + 12 + 1975 = 1999
1 + 9 + 9 + 9 = 28
2 + 8 = 10
1+ 0 = 1 birthpath
A person born December 12, 1975 is a 1 birthpath.
Calculate your own birthpath using the method above.
Whether one's birthpath expresses depends upon the
name given, for the name creates one's personality and
is the compelling force. The birthpath is only a potential
until understood and expressed through mind.
1 birthpath
The 1 represents the starting power, the individual
quality of individuality as well as the power of
leadership. Consequently, when striving to develop
mental ability to serve with a 1 in the birthpath or name,
the individual should consider that service is to give
leadership. Leadership is not necessarily being out in front
taking the brunt of the opposition, but merely having
the initiative to go ahead on one's own if necessary,
not waiting for someone else but having the
determination to do what is right regardless of what
is going on.
2 birthpath
Service with a smile for the 2 is just that--congenial
association. That is the quality of the 2, to give the
power that will blend people. One can give that power
by learning how to use the Power of the Word at the
right time, place, and way so that the frictions of
association are lessened and that the congeniality
is strengthened, allowing greater cooperation and
greater results from the cooperation.
3 birthpath
The 3 is the power of happiness. 3's are noted for
their naturally giving natures. The 3's are to give
expression to life in a constructive vein, and with such
a power of enthusiasm that it is a catalyst to others to
want to give also. The 3's role is to direct this
enthusiastic power towards purposes that are
beneficial for everyone.
4 birthpath
The 4 quality is the quality of the intellect, the 4
serves best by bringing logic into life. If we are
striving to serve, then we should eliminate the
confusion and bring clarity. The 4 strives to reduce
the confusions of misunderstanding and ignorance
by introducing the logic of life. The 4 serves by
bringing clarity of thought.
5 birthpath
The 5 quality represents incentive--the quick-minded,
analytical power. The 5 should be able to resolve
through analysis the injustices of life, and establish
the proper principled means of conduct, whether it
be business, social, economic, or political. The 5
must find out what is wrong and establish what is
right. The analysis of the 5 should find new concepts
and the 5 should share them.
6 birthpath
The 6 represents the quality of service through
responsibility. The 6 serves by offering the under-
standing in a way that is both acceptable and
appreciated for its clarity of intelligence and its
universality in application. The 6 quality is a superior
mental quality, not in a negative sense of being
egotistical but the 6 just has strong reasoning powers.
7 birthpath
The 7 serves through the depth of thought that the
7 symbolizes and bringing that depth and
philosophical quality into the environment. The 7
serves by bringing out the depth of other people's
minds. In the 7's quiet, reserved way, they have
the ability to step foward at the right moment and
bring in the serious, deeper aspects to
whatever the circumstances are at the moment.
8 birthpath
The 8 is the quality of service through organization.
That is how we benefit from the 8's ability, by helping
to bring the clarity of understanding of how people
can be organized, drawn together, and serve each
other's interest in the best interest of all. The 8's
deeper, more significant role of service is in the
organization of philosophical pursuits for the benefit
and fairness to all humanity.
9 birthpath
For the 9, service represents the idealism. The purpose
of life is something that everyone is seeking to under-
stand. The 9 serves through helping people and seeing
their lives change; seeing someone who has been sick
and unhappy become happy and vital; seeing someone
in a family on the verge of breaking up and fighting with
confusion, and the whole family changes and harmony
is created through the efforts of the 9.
Editor's note:
You will likely recognize many of the qualities
expressed above, other than just your birthpath quality.
That is because there are finer shadings to the birthpath
that include the expression of some of the other
qualities, or it may be that your name reflects some of
the above qualities.
We encourage you to order a Name Report to find out
more about yourself and why you experience the thoughts
and feelings, and attract the situations in life that you do.
Sometimes when qualities are in conflict, there are feelings
of frustration and lack of consistency in effort which
hinders success.
Next month, we will discuss some of the not-so-constructive
qualities of each of the numbers!
